Welcome to Technogory - A place to read about diverse technology - from the corner booth!

Why the corner booth?

Growing up, I loved watching the classic gangster movie.  What was the one thing the main character (gangster) always did in eating places?  Placed himself in the back or corner booth at the restaurant so he could watch everything in front of him.  Nothing was behind him but a wall.  You know, get a good view of what’s going on; keeping in front all the time!  Making judgements on the environment, and being able to make decisions based on the terrain.

The primary focus of this site is to follow different technology, trends, and movements.  Of course computers come first, but I will also look at Home Automation, theater and sound, maybe advancements in your auto, or handheld devices.  If it interests me, I’ll talk about it!

I work in an advanced environment that allows me to work with many platforms including xSeries, p/iSeries, and zSeries. Even the mainframe! I work with Linux almost exclusively. I support, manage, and develop a number of SMBs who have diverse environments. I have worked with a number of open source web based applications and managed many sites for different folks.

I have worked with a number of high end home theater systems, home automation devices, dealt with various handheld devices, and even automotive computers!  I hope you find this opinionated blog/exploration useful. All content contained is considered copyright Technogory.
